a) The student must be a citizen of the United States of America

b) The student must have a valid Social Security number
c) If the student is male(18 to 25 years old), he must register with Selective Service
d) The student must maintain satisfactory academic progress in college or career school
e) The student must be able to manifest that he/she is qualified to obtain a postsecondary education by: 1) having a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate; 2) passing an approved ability-to-benefit test (if you don't have a diploma or GED certificate, a school can administer a test to determine whether you can benefit from the education offered at that school); 3) completing six credit hours or equivalent course work toward a degree or certificate; 4) meeting other federally approved standards that is established by the student's state; and 5) completing a high school education in a homeschool setting approved under state law.
f) The student must certify that he/she is not in default on a federal student loan and does not owe money on a federal student grant.
g) The student must certify that certify that he/she will use the federal student aid for education purposes only.
