National Science Foundation's Smart Health and Wellbeing Program
The National Science Foundation has constituted the development of the Smart Health and Wellbeing (SHB) Program wherein they intend to address scientific and technical issues that would pave the way towards the transformation of the healthcare process from being rather reactive and hospital centered into becoming preventive, proactive, evidence-based, patient-centered and focused on the wellbeing of the person rather than his/her disease.
Scalable Nanomanufacturing Grants ProgramThe National Science Foundation has announced the constitution of the Scalable Nanomanufacturing Grants Program wherein it intends to deepen and encourage research and education in the area of scalable nanomanufacturing, including the long-term societal implications of the largescale implementation of nanomanufacturing innovations.
Student Loans Available Directly from the Federal GovernmentThere are different variations of a Federal Direct Student Loan available; these are dependent on whether or not the student is eligible for government assistance. Need based programs include the Stafford Loan and the Direct Subsidized Loan; while non-need based programs are the Direct PLUS program, and the Direct Unsubsidized Loan.
Family Planning Services GrantsOPHS has recently established a funding opportunity entitled Family Planning Services Grants, a program wherein the OPHS, along with the HHS, will award grants to eligible individuals who seek to operate voluntary family planning services projects that would provide family planning services to everyone who desires to avail of such services, including low-income families in under-served areas.
