The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, otherwise known as HUD, is a Cabinet department in the Executive branch of the US federal government.

The Community Development Block Grant Program for Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages revolves around the notion of developing viable Indian and Alaska Native communities which includes the building of decent housing programs, sustainable living environments, and economic opportunities for all, with priority to low and moderate-income families.
