The United States Department of Agriculture is the federal executive department which is mainly responsible for executing and implementing the United States federal government policies on the fields of farming, agriculture and food.

The mission of the Department of the Agriculture is geared towards meeting the needs of farmers and ranchers, as well as the promotion of agricultural trade and production, and at the same time, the agency is also simultaneously working towards assuring food safety, protecting natural resources, foster rural communities and finally, ending hunger not only in the United States but also in several countries all over the world.

In line with this objective, the Department of Agriculture has recently established the Technical Assistance and Training Grants program.

The Technical Assistance and Training Grants program is designed to:

a) Determine and evaluate resolutions to current water and waste disposal issues in rural areas

b) Provide assistance to applicants in the preparation of their applications for the water and waste grants that are made the state level offices

c) Boost and enhance the operation and maintenance strategies of current water and waste disposal facilities in rural areas.
