The United States Agency for International Development in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the branch of the United States Agency for International Development(USAID) that is primarily responsible for administering civilian assistance to the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).

The USAID Democratic Republic of Congo has established various programs that would benefit the people in the DRC. Some of these programs include those that are focusing on peace and security, governing justly and democratically, investing in people's health, investing in people's education, economic growth and finally, humanitarian assistance.

In keeping with all its existing programs and activities, the USAID-DRC has established a program entitled Developing and Strengthening Services and Systems that Support Family Cohesion and Respond to the Separation of Children in Democratic Republic of Congo.

The program aims to benefit those children who lack adequate family care, who risk separation from family and those who have already been separated from their family. These children have also been made astray and have been made vulnerable to HIV/AIDS.

In addition, these children are also believed to be currently living in dangerous environments and are involved in hazardous child labor and sexual exploitation.

A socially innovative project called Jyothirgamaya, which means “from darkness to light” helps blind children in Kerala, India by having the school come to them.
