The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, otherwise referred to as DARPA, is an agency operating within the United States Department of Defense that is primarily in charge of the creation of new technology to be utilized by the military.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's mission is to uphold the technological superiority of the United States military to prevent technological shortcomings that would potentially lead to harming our national security, and they plan to achieve this funding revolutionary research studies that are thought to bridge the gap between fundamental discoveries and military usage.

In addition to all its existing program, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has constituted the funding opportunity entitled "ENGAGE: Learning to Solve Problems, Solving Problems to Learn."

The ENGAGE program is initially seeking to uncover proposals for innovative research studies that would lead young students to be more "engaged" in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics(STEM).

Initially, the program is pushing to tackle an educational game-based approach that would hopefully help them develop ways to uncover the best strategies for teaching specific STEM topics, while at the same time taking into great consideration varying learning styles, demographics, and all the others factors that could affect the process of learning.
