The proposed family planning services should will have to include clinical family planning and related preventive health services, information, education and counseling associated with family planning practices, and referral services.
In addition, OPHS also requires the family planning service grantees to design their proposals around the agency's priorities, which are:
a) To be able to ascertain the delivery of high quality family planning services which are greatly related preventive health services, thereby leading to the improvement in the general health of all individuals availing those services, giving priority to low-income families;
b) To be able to provide easy access to a wide range of acceptable and efficient family planning strategies that are related to preventive health services which would include family planning methods, infertility services, services for adolescents, teen pregnancy prevention, and the exclusion of abortion as a family planning method;
