The activities and initiatives included under the program will focus on the following objectives:

a) Challenging the global community to identify, create, and advance a new generation of women who are committed to public service.
b) Bringing together leaders, educators and public servants from all over the world; including members of private and nonprofit organizations.
c) Identifying and addressing the hurdles that prevent more women from pursuing careers in public service and political leadership.
d) Exploring creative solutions that will augment the number of young women who aspire to pursue a career in public service.
The Bureau of African Affairs will award a funding amount of $60,000 to financially support the activities covered within the Fostering International Research on Women in Public Service Program.
The institutions and organizations that will be considered eligible to submit an application under this program are the following:
a) Public and State Controlled Institutions of Higher Education
b) Nonprofit organizations
c) Private Institutions of Higher Education
d) Individuals who are capable of carrying out the activities contained in the program.
