3) Community Oriented Policing Services Office (COPS) - The COPS is the agency within the DOJ which provides funding opportunities to assist law enforcement agencies in the process of hiring more community police officers, acquiring new technologies and innovative equipment, and promoting innovative approaches to solving crimes and misconducts.

4) Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) - The agency with the DOJ that provides leadership and services in criminal justice policy development and grant administration in an effort to support state, local, and tribal justice strategies with the goal of achieving safer communities.

5) Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) - The department under the Department of Justice that has a mission to "To collect, analyze, publish, and disseminate information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government. These data are critical to Federal, State, and local policymakers in combating crime and ensuring that justice is both efficient and evenhanded."

6) Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO) - The agency that is tasked to form partnerships with local communities in an effort to reduce crimes and improve the people's quality of living.

7) National Institute of Justice (NIJ) - The NIJ is designed to act as the research, development and evaluation agency of the Department of Justice.

8) Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention - The office within the DOJ that provides funding to support research studies, programs and training initiatives, as well the development of goals and priorities that will guide federal juvenile justice concerns.
