Among all of the grants and programs of the DOE, the following are the most widely known and recognized:

1) State Energy Program (SEP) - The SEP is geared towards enabling participating States to develop strategies and goals that would address their foremost energy priorities. The SEP will work towards providing financial and technical assistance to theses States by way of grants and cooperative agreements.

2) Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program - This program is funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. It intends to deploy the cleanest, cheapest, and most reliable energy technologies that are available in the market today.

3) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) - The WAP will work in a way that will allow the DOE to provide funding to States, US overseas territories, and Indian tribal governments in an effort to help these institutions improve the energy performance in the dwellings of their needy constituents, thereby reducing their energy bill and making their homes more energy efficient.

The Department of Energy also provides loan programs to help eligible applicants address our nation's existing economic conditions.

Interested researchers or principal investigators are encouraged to visit the DOE website at http://energy.gov/ in order to read more about its programs and services.
