Urban Waters Small Grants Program

The United States Environmental Protection Agency, otherwise termed as EPA, is an independent agency in the United States Federal Government that is primarily in-charge of protecting the human health and the environment by way of enforcing the laws and regulations that are passed by the Congress.

The work of the EPA is geared towards the realization of its mission, which is to constantly shield the American people from risks and threats to that are made to their health and to their environment.

In line with this, the United States Environmental Protection Agency has recently constituted the development of the Urban Waters Small Grants Program wherein it seeks to solicit project proposals from eligible applicants who wish to contribute to the improvement of water quality in urban areas.

The EPA intends to go about the implementation of this program by providing funds that will support research studies, training, demonstration projects that are concentrated on advancing the restoration of urban waters by way of improving the water quality through programs and activities that will simultaneously support local priorities and community revitalization.

The Fish and Wildlife Service has recently established the Coastal Impact Assistance Program wherein the agency will provide a ceiling budget amounting to $250 million to be utilized in conservation, protection, and preservation projects of coastal areas, including wetlands.


2012 Scallop Research Set-Aside Program
The Department of Commerce, in cooperation with the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has recently established a project entitled 2012 Scallop Research Set-Aside Program.
