5) Federal Transit Administration (FTA) - The agency within the DOT that provides essential financial and technical assistance to local public transit systems.

6) United States Maritime Administration (MARAD) - The department under the DOT that is largely accountable for maintaining the National Defense Reserve Fleet, which is a source of ships that could be utilized during national emergencies.

7) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) - The department that is liable for saving lives through working towards the prevention of injuries and the alleviation in vehicle-related incidents.
