The United States Agency for International Development, otherwise known as USAID, is the United States federal government's leading agency that is responsible for administering civilian foreign aid to various countries all around the world.

The USAID seeks to offer a helping hand to people oversees who are struggling to live a better life, recover from a disaster or simply striving to live in a free and democratic country.
The USAID has also established programs in various fields such as in education, environment, health, economy, and democracy.
One of the USAID's most recent programs is the Zambia Economic Resilience Program for Improved Food Security project.
The Zambia Economic Resilience Program for Improved Food Security is designed to implement innovative techniques and approaches that would hopefully enable the community's most vulnerable and poor rural families to improve food security by strengthening their economic resilience.
The project will also address the concerns of very poor women by helping them meet their food needs and ultimately allow them to take part in expanding their opportunities by becoming producers, service providers, and entrepreneurs.
